I am sure you have seen those banners, pop-ups, and spam e-mails, "GET RICH!!!! JOIN THIS AMAZING OFFER NOW!!!" Yeah right, get rich quick! No such thing. So why am I bringing it up? Well, it can be profitable. Yes that's right, you can make money at it. You need to research all of the affiliate offerings out there. What do they offer in return for your money? Most of them are complicated schemes just to get your money. Many of them offer vapor-ware. Something that you can't put your hands on. I've lost a lot of money to these before I got smart about it. I become an affiliate of companies that will offer real product to people I refer. Such as a graphics download site, or templating site. I know they offer real products because I test them by purchasing a small item. Others are link referrals. These are affiliate services where when you join, you get traffic driven to your site. This means a lot when it comes to page ranking on a search engine. Others are hosting, publishing, travel, and many many others. The key thing is you don't get something for nothing, or even paying. You will need to work at getting referrals. This is not easy. Posting banners and links is one way., e-mails another, link exhanges.... the list can go on. I will post articles about how to work affiliates as time permits..
Bottom line, research the affiliate program before you join. It can be profitiable. | |
